Adding Badges to a Page Template

In this video, I'm going to show you how to add pages to a page in your Shopify store. Now it could be any type of page being an about page or a contact page, a page you're using as a landing page for a campaign. Any one of those types of pages, the same steps will apply. The first we're going to do is we're going to the back end of our Shopify admin, and we're going to go down to the badges, our app.

And I've already pinned that app to my list of apps here in my admin.

And then you'll see I have the Choose Badges menu show up with options for the different template types. So because we're working on a page we want to go to the page template type and add badges. There. So there's a button here to add badges.  There's a lot of badges to pick from. There's actually hundreds and hundreds of them.

And it can be quite a long list to go through. So what you can do is you can search. Let's say the first thing I want to do is talk about being an American manufacturer. So I can select that badge. And then maybe I want to talk about lowest price. And there we go. There's a badge for guaranteed lowest price.

And maybe we want to talk about our innovative products. And then let's do one more veteran owned.

And now if I just get rid of that search box, you'll see all four of those are selected in this long list that we've been picking from. So now I'm going to click on the Save and Close button. And now I see those four badges that I selected. And it uses the badge settings that are from the badge settings here for things like color and size.

That I had already used because I had added badges to other template types. Now on this page here, if I want to, I could say, well, veteran owned, I want to move that, in front of innovative products. And you'll see right here is little icon with six dots. And if I hover over it you'll see my cursor change.

And then when I do that I can click and then drag to move that badge to wherever I want it to be. And it'll automatically save, as you can see up here. So now we've picked the badges we want for our page template. So now we're going to go into a page template and add it.

And we do that in Theme Customizer so that in our Shopify admin is under online store. And we're going to go to customize theme. Now the page that I want to put this on has its own template created. So it's got go to the page templates list and pick badges demo. And that was that template that you saw applied to the page we're looking at a minute ago.

So now on this one here I can add the section under the template area I can add a section for the badges. Now our badges from the badge app or under the apps menu here. So let's select apps and you'll see page badges. So I click on that. And now I can see the page badges elements show up.

And I can move that up and down on the page to be wherever I want it to be. Right. And I can also adjust the margin to give it more spacing on the top and bottom, or less spacing, depending how it lays out on that page. So you're in control of the spacing between the other sections on the page.

And then if I save that. And go out to the front end of the website, the customer facing side and refresh the page, we see those badges show up. Now. So that's how you can create a set of badges for a page and add it to a page template.
